Our Team

  • Robert Strobel

Robert founded Blitz Crew Racing & Coaching in August 2021. Prior to that, Robert had been riding and racing bikes since the age of 13. Over the years and through college, Robert found passion in helping others to grow and improve in cycling. Post college, Robert now races professionally on the road and spends his time working to help athletes of varying disciplines reach their goals. “Coaching is without a doubt the most rewarding thing I have done in my life. Every athlete is different in their experience level and goals. Because of this, there is no one training plan that can guarantee success. Rather I work with individuals to create personalized training plans to play to both their strengths and weaknesses as an athlete.”

  • Stephen Bassett

Stephen Bassett is a lifelong cyclist (lifer biker) from Knoxville, TN. He began racing at nine years old and has enjoyed mountain, road, gravel, and cyclocross racing over a long career. As a student athlete at the University of Tennessee, he balanced earning a degree with taking victories at stages of the Redlands Classic, Tour of Hokkaido, Tour of Namur, and two stages and the GC at Joe Martin. Post college, Bassett joined Rally/Human Powered Health Cycling and raced extensively in Europe, earning a second place at a stage of Ruta del Sol and winning the KOM competition at the Arctic Race of Norway. For the last few years, he has raced for Project Echelon, winning the 2024 US criterium national championships. As a racer who has been good, bad, and everything in between, Coach Steve is well equipped to handle not only the optimal training schedule for aspiring cyclists, but also the emotional and motivational struggles every racer goes through in their career. He enjoys providing racers and riders with the tools they need to not only succeed in the sport, but enjoy themselves while doing it. He loves mixing the new with the tried and true to stay on the cutting edge of racing and performance.

    BLITZ: Why coaching?
“I am passionate about helping athletes recognize and realize their potential—both in performance and in how they show up for themselves in general. Coaching is about more than just workouts; it’s about building trust, creating the kind of training structure that fits your life, and guiding the process with intention. I have personal experience as a student-athlete, athlete-athlete, 40hr work week-athlete and have seen everything in between”
    BLITZ: What’s your style?
“Grounded. Communicative. Athlete-first. I believe in sustainable progress, honest feedback, and a science driven training approach that supports your goals and wellbeing. Cheerleader when needed, disciplined when necessary”
    BLITZ: Who’s it for?
“Athletes who want to feel supported and challenged in a way that respects where they’re at and where they want to go”
